Shaky monitor picture

I have a 17" Sony G200 monitor hooked to a Dell Dimension 4100 and today the
picture has a horizontal shake to it. How can I tell if the problem is in
the monitor or the video card? I only have this one PC here so I can't hook
the monitor to a different box. Thanks for any suggestions.

Try a different resolution and different refresh rate. Also make sure
that there are no electrical devices close to the monitor. Had an
electric clock mess up a customers monitor one time. Had a strong
electric motor in it that really made the picture shake.

You probably put an electrical device near it. Think of what you changed.
Also one fellow changed his light bulb in the room where his PC was and it
somehow resonated back into the line to his PC.

Think, did you change something in the room or in the house (air
conditioning) recently, like in the past few days since it last worked
properly.

Thanks guys. It was a voltage regulator I have on the line that went bad.
The transformer must be leaking, I bypassed it and the screen is fine now.
