Dell E151FPb Monitor Question

I have a Dell E151FPb LCD monitor - 15" that seems to work fine.
Strangely it has a rather large black knob (maybe 1") on front lower
right that does nothing - just rotates with no stopping point.
I have looked at pictures on the web for this monitor, and do not see
that knob in any pictures. So I am wondering what this knob might be
for? I thought maybe volume control, but I see no evidence of any
speaker presence. Not any speaker connection either.

I am curious if anyone else has ever seen this monitor with this knob?

Thanks

Ok. That knob would make me look at the backside, to see whether
there was an audio i/0 with loudspeaker included.

When I look at that picture, what I notice about it, is the alignment
of the knob. It's too high, in the area it's been placed. It comes
too close to the edge of the screen.

That makes me agree with Grinder, who suggested it's a microphone clip.
Or some other kind of self-adhesive object, placed there by the owner.

Just like, at work, we had people who would place Chiquita banana
stickers, all over the side of their CRT. After eating the banana.

Now, the next thing I see when I look at that, is it hooks like
something that fits in the back of a hexagonal hole. Like, a
compression fit.

Still no idea what it is though.

Am not going to use a site with a "download improver".
Yikes.

I don't blame you. I did not, and still don't, see anything about a
'download improver'. Unless it happens when U register, which I
didn't. Sorry about that. I will use Paul's suggestion next time.
Thanks Paul.

Actually, the knob has a full-diameter slot on it, about 1/4" or so
wide. After reading some of these responses, I now think the thing
was added by a user to hold the long stem of a mike. Makes sense if
you are a little handy. Or unless the mike came with said knob. The
knob turns completely around, and around. There are no sound-related
ports on the monitor anywhere. So I don't see it as a volume control.

Anyway, I can sleep now that I can label it for what I think it is.

Thanks all
