Hello.

I installed Citrix MPS 3.0 on a Windows 2000 Server. There I
published one application and also the desktop. Next, from
one PC, I start the published application. Works fine. Then I
start the published desktop and start the Presentation Server
Console.

There, I go to Applications, select the published application
and see the connected user on the right part of the window.
With a click of the right mouse button, I select Shadow and Ok
that window.

After that, a "DOS" window pops up for a short period of time
and that's all that happened.

Obviously, something did not work :)
What did I miss and how do I get shadow to work?

Thanks a lot,

Alexander Skwar

The default shadow settings request permission from the destination session,
so what you saw is normal. You need to either enable shadowing w/o
notification via the user's account or Citrix Policy.

As a sidenote, remember that you can neither shadow the console session, nor
can you shadow from the console. You must shadow from an RDP or ICA Session.

Okay.

I now created a policy. The only property set there, is User
Workspace -> Shadowing -> Configuration -> (x) Enabled ->
(x) Allow Shadowing with both the checkboxes *NOT* enabled.
See http://alexander.skwar.name/details.php?image_id=1041

To verify that the rule is applied correctly, I also set
[x] Turn off clipboard monitoring.

Nonetheless, shadowing does not work.

Hm? You mean, I cannot shadow when I'm logged in "directly" to
the machine, as in walking to the server and logging into it?

If so, then that's not the problem. I'm trying to do the shadowing
from the servers published desktop session.

Thanks,

Hm, there's another "oddity". When I login to the ICA desktop
session, I start the shadow toolbar. There, I click on shadow
and select the session I'm interested in. I then click on
okay.

Now, a MPS Client window opens and it is asking me
for my Novell and Windows login details? Why's that?
