Shading rows

Bob M

Is it possible to shade every other row on an existing spreadsheet without
manually shading? This would make it easier to read a list across the row.

Thanks,
Bob M

format>conditional format>formula
=mod(row(),2=0)
format as desired and copy where desired

=mod(row(),2=0) Where do I enter this? It is asking me for cell value, etc.
Probably a basic question.

Thanks,
Bob

format refers to the format on the toolbar at the top of your worksheet
conditional formattin is an option
formula is is an option in the left box

It's pretty self-explanatory unless you went to college at Texas A & M.

What have you got against Texas A&M Don?
I went to Michigan, so I personally don't have any bias, pro or con, about
Texas.
Did they beat the hell out of *your* alma mater?<bg>

It's just a running joke kind of thing between the University of Texas (my
school) and A & M. We "fondly" call them "aggies". They don't usually beat
us.
BTW. I have an aggie daughter in law so they aren't all bad. <G>
