Shading in Tables

My job likes to have my PPT tables with alternate row
shading. The type of shading is a gradiant shading with
the setting on a light blue color which is my 2nd color
in the color scheme and four clicks away from the light
side set to horizontal that goes from the blue to white
in the center. I use the bottom left choice on
Horizontal.

My add-in that lets PPT use styles doesn't work w/
tables. I can't F4(Repeat) the shading when I do it
once. And worst of all it is always set to the 1st color
in the sheme with the settings on the Dark side of the
bar.

So everytime I have to shade something I have to re-set
it everytime to the correct color and shading. Then I
have to Take the fill out of every other row, lukily at
least I can to that with F4. But I'd love to be able to
at least set the shading I want as the default.

Can I do any of this in VBA code? like make a macro that
will shade how I want? Or any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

The default colors for gradients come from the "Fills" (5th) and "Accent"
(6th) colors of the color scheme for whatever slide you are editing. If you
want different defaults to show up you can change the color scheme for that
slide (by just changing the Fills and Accent colors for the scheme being
used by that slide).

NOTE: If you are using the color scheme Fill and Accent colors anywhere
else in that slide changing the color scheme will change those objects also.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that ability to have
more control over default settings for things like gradient fills (without
have to resort to an add-in or VBA), don't forget to send your feedback to

Thanks but I wasn't asking about the color I was asking
about the gradient setting. For one it doesn't even
remember the last action, and secondly it always comes
about 4 arrow clicks from the dark side and also the
gradient type. I would like to be able to set the
gradient i use as the default, Or is there a way to write
a macro to shade it with the correct gradient?
