Several Problems

1."Standby" doesn't work.
I have add the "acpi uniprocessor pc"component, but "Standby" button is
still gray.

2."Automatic Updates" doesn't work.
I have add "Windows Update Agent".But the "Automatic Updates" control
table is gray, can not switch it to "Start".

3.when i install office 2000 or office 2003 into XP embedded sp2, I got
several error:
1>error 1911 can't register c:\windows\system32\ven2232.olb into typelib.
2>error 1904 can't register c:\program files\microsoft
office\office11\2052\msrclr40.dll
3>error 1919 config ODBC datasource Ms Access DataBase error. ODBC error
13: could not load the setup or translator library. make sure Ms Access
Database exist and you can access this file.

On #3 Just to let you know, MS will not license Office on XPe for an end
product. To install office on XPe, try adding the Null Device Driver to the
image.

On #3 Just to let you know, MS will not license Office on XPe for an end
product. To install office on XPe, try adding the Null Device Driver to the
image.

or WSUS. If the device is part of an enterprise that using WSUS to update
their machines then Windows Update Agenet aloows the device to download the
approved updates from the Enterprise WSUS server.

If you are trying to use Windows Update to update your device- it is not
supported on XPe, as WU has no knowledge of what features are installed on
your runtime and therefore which updates are applicable.

service?right?

Yes. Direct updates from Windows Update to XPe system is not supported.
If the XPe system is part of an Enterprise with Windows 2003 Server + WSUS,
then Windows Updates can come from WSUS.

The idea here is that XPe system can be scaled with different features and
footprints. There maybe updates available that were not designed into the
original XPe image. If you were running XPe on a small CF card (i.e. 256MB)
, the updates might fill the drive with features the system doesn't need.
WSUS allows the IT manager to control what can be downloaded to the XPE
systems.
