Bill

I am frequently getting the following error message when
trying to install software onto my system. "Setup is
unable to decompress and copy all of the program files
needed to proceed with the installation. Contact your
software vendor. Error 112." It happens enough that I
can't believe that it is an error that is common to all of
the programs that I am trying to install but rather an
error within WIN 2000. Any ideas. Thanks

Hello Bill,

The issue you are describing is in the Windows XP article :
Q326678 "Error 112 Setup Installation Error" Error Message When You Try to install a program
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326678

It states this issue occurs because you do not have enough disk space available in the temporary files folder.

Please check and delete all file in the TEMP folder.

Go to a command prompt and type SET
Press ENTER
Look for both TMP and TEMP to see where the temp folders are.

Hope this helps with your issue.
