Hello,

I have a nasty problem when trying to install NTish Windows (NT4, 2000,
XP) on my HP NetServer LX Pro:

When booting from CD, setup freezes at the point where its says "setup
is inspecting...". This occurs only when the HP NetRAID controller
(which I'd like to use, of course) is installed in the system. When I
boot from diskettes (I just was able to verify this for NT4), setup just
starts perfectly...
Configuration of the controller seems to be ok, because L*nux is able to
probe the hardware.

Any hints?

Thanks in advance,

Robert

During the initial setup phase, booting from CD, you're prompted to press F6
to provide RAID controller files.

You need to prepare a floppy disk with the appropriate drivers etc for your
version of the Operating System [Win98, Me, XP, NT, 200, 2003 etc] and the
files are specific for each one.

This wouldn'T be the problem but it freezes just BEFORE this screen
(still im the b/w text-mode, not the blue-backgrounded) appears.
Anyway, NT4.0 with the bootdisks works fine and dispite its age it'
s quite good to use.
