Setup failed to install....

I get the following error trying to upgrade from Win 2000 to XP

"Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.

No error number or any other reference. At this point, it's already overwritten 2000 so I can't do a single thing with my computer. Any ideas?
