setup domain/dns at home

is it easily possible to setup a domain at home behind
a router/firewall? i will only be setting up three PC's
and i don't care for the ease of a workgroup. 1 host and
two clients. i enjoy tinkering with things like this in
my spare time and i think this would be a fun project.
any help/tips/pointers are welcome.
