Setup a default View in Outlook for new folders

Each time I create a new sub-folder in my inbox - Outlook gives it a View I
don't like - arranged by groups and with the reading pane turned on. How do I
tell Outlook to use a different default view ?

It applies the global Messages view. If you don't like it, edit that view, through the View | Arrange By | Current View | Define Views dialog.

Yes, I know I can change the view after I have created the folder. But I
create a lot of folders, and I want each one to be created with my prefered
default view. I don't want to have to change each one manually after it has
been created - that is tdeious.

How do I edit the global deafult / template view ?

I don't want things grouped, I don't want the preview pane etc...

That's not what I was suggesting at all. You need to edit the global Messages view, not the individual view for each folder.

Sue - I have the same problem as "Guest", have modified all views in the "Define Views" dialog box, yet still have the problem with new folders and old. I prefer to have a "Sent" rather than a "Received" column, but have to manually edit each old and new folder view. I do not understand how to modify a "GLOBAL MESSAGES" view (nor can I find that option). Can you share that as well?

THANKS!
