Setup a booklet in Word so it prints correctly

I am trying to set up a Booklet so that it prints correctly on a letter size
page which is then folded to 5.5 x 8.5. There are 88 pages on 22 sheets of
paper. I can get it to print the right number of pages but they are not in
the correct order. Word set it up for me, and everyone seems to have this
problem, but there are no answers for it anywhere. I know with text boxes
you can only link 32 so that won't work. Other than buying new software is
there an easy way to create an employee handbook with data that is in a word
document? Also there seems to be no real explanation of "booklet" setting
vs. two page spread when it comes to page set up and print properties.

If you have Word 2002 or above, you can use "Book fold" to get the right
