Setting XP Folder view to detail default

I am unable to successfully set my folder view to the detail view in the
flocer control panel. I have tried all of the recommended fixes on the MS
website. I am the administrator, I downloaded the solution to the maximum
folder limit, etc. The button to set the default view is "grayed out".
Help. setting each folder individually is a pain.

Make the changes in Windows Explorer, not My Computer.

Many thanks for the help. Just seemed like Control Panel/Folders would be
logical, but that was not the case.

The defaults are made globally and for the object. So doing apply to all in My Computer sets the defaults, then sets the defaults for My Computer type folders. It does not change the defaults for other object types (search, file folders, fonts, etc). If one has done this before the last Apply to All for those object types will still apply. If it hasn't been done before for those object types then they will inheirit from the general default (or factory defaults if apply to all has not been used previously).
