We have two desktops in the house (1 in my room and another in my brother's).
We have a cable but how do I set up a network (for printing to my printer and
transferring files from one pc to the next?

Both pc's have XP home.

Please give me (if possible) the simplest steps that anyone can understand.

Thx

Tazzy,

If you have two computer and wish to connect them, is the cable a cross-over
cable? A patch (straigh-thru) cable will not do, in this case. Please make
sure to start with a cross-over cable.

Next, with both computers running Windows XP, run the Network Setup Wizard on
both.

Finally, setup file sharing in XP Home, by activating the Guest account on each
computer.
