Setting up windows mail

I am trying ot set up my Windows e-mail account. I am a novice to this. I
have a gmail account and want to link the two. When Wondows asks for my
account namd and server name, I entered "gmail". I don't think this is
correct. Anyone familiar enough with my problem to be able to help?
