When I go into Guest account which is turned on or set up another account it
seems fine but when I log into that account whichever it is, It takes a few
minuters and then I get a blank blue screen with a box in the top left hand
corner saying " setting up preferences for Internet Explorer 6 and then stays
that way for 10 to 15 minutes. It does not seem frozen because the activity
light blinks occassionally but it does not go anywhwere.

I need this to work for other guest to use. Please help?

I had this same problem after reformatting and reinstalling XP Home. What I
did that worked...

From control panel, User Accounts... change the way users log on. There are
2 options to check... one was allow "quick login". I forget the other. I
unchecked both and the new user's settings worked and it loaded. I set up
that user's email and logged out. In the main user's log on I set the way
users log on back to "quick logon" and it's working fine now.

Yes.. The problem is the hanging saying "setting preferences for Internet
Explorer 6". I also did a reformat and this happened but never happened
before. There is minimal things running in the background.

You still having the trouble? Are you on XP pro or home?

I'm on XP home. All I had to do was select the option to "log on a
different way," just as described in the first response. It doesn't hang
anymore. ...Problem went away.
