setting up two computers on a netwokr (please help)

I am trying to network two computers, they are both win
xp pro. They both recognize the hub (the hub lights
flash). But they dont see eachother. When i try pinging
eachother it says request timed out. I ran the network
wizard on both computers.

Disable their firewalls (ICF)
 
What would be the way to go about that, only one of the
computers has norton internet security, the other just
got windows installed on it.

network properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Advanced > and uncheck
"Protect my computer..."
