Networked computers cannot comunicate

I have a network set up between a computer running Windows XP and the other
is running windows 2000 Professional. The network was working in the past
however has stopped for an unknown reason. I have checked everything by going
through the troubleshooter but have not been sucsesful. When I ping either
computer they can ping eachothers IP address and all other IP's they should
be able to but they can't ping eachothers computer name, when I try it says
"could not find host".

Tyler,

Start by looking at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely
(download browstat!):

Check for the needed network components and services.

Another possibility would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

Yes they are in the same workgroup but they don't show up in network
neighborhood. The computer thats running XP does show up on itself but the
one runnin 2000 doesn't.
