SETTING UP TAB'S

Hi i am having a problem using the the TAB's part of word pro plus 2007. When
i say TAB'S i mean left tab,right tab,centre tab,decimal tab its the ones at
the left hand side of the horizontal ruler.
My problem is i understand how they work an as i have downloaded info from
microsoft etc but when it comes to doing a document i cant seem to see
exactly what they are supposed to do visually to the document ?? i have tried
to see if i can find an image of what an altered document would look like
after you have used the tabs. i am in the process of doing college and need
help with this as so far everyone i have asked has drawn a blank. or have i
just missed understood what the purpose of the tabs are there to do??

Let's start with the obvious:) You have to press the Tab Key in order to
move the insertion point to the next tab stop on the line.

Tabs are used to create neatly aligned tabular lists of information...
pressing the spacebar multiple times to gain indentation or spacing between
words on a line wil not do the same. You might want to review the
information available here:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/SettingTabs.htm

If this doesn't answer your question(s) please be a liitle more clear about
what you don't understand.

You're certainly welcome, but the thanks goes those who composed it long
before I got involved :)
