setting up scanner on network

have a all in one printer/scanner etc.

i have set up the printer to be used in the living room while its connected
to my 2 pc in my office.

however i can't get to use it as a scanner otherwise than to bring my
laptgop into my offive and plug in...

any help appreciated

The majority don't have this capability.

A few business-grade MFCs do, for example some of the Mita range can deliver
scans to a folder on a fileserver. It's rare on small units though.
