Instructions for Outlook which are virtually the same.

1.. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
2.. Click Add
3.. Click Email account. In the Your Name box, type your name as you want
others to see it.
4.. In the E-mail Address box, type your complete e-mail address including
@msn.com.
5.. In the Incoming mail server (POP3) box, type pop3.email.msn.com.
6.. In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type smtp.email.msn.com.
7.. In the User Name box, type your account name. Do not include @msn.com.
8.. In the Password box, type your MSN account password. You can choose to
have WM remember your password by selecting the Remember password check box.
Important You should not do this if anyone else has access to your
Microsoft Windows account.

9.. Select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check
box.
10.. Click More Settings.
11.. Click the Outgoing Server tab, and then select the My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authentication check box.
12.. Click Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
13.. Click OK.
Click Test Account Settings to verify that your account is working. If
there is missing or incorrect information, such as your password, you will
be prompted to supply or correct it. Be sure that your computer is connected
to the Internet.

14.. Click Next, and then click Finish.

People........ Vista WinMail does not let you set up a hotmail ot msn
account -- it vetoes those domains.

To do:
Set up the account using a dummy email address WITHOUT msn.com email
address. Finish the wizard then go back in and edit the email addy to the
proper name and you are good to go.
