Setting up miltiple appointments with Outlook 2007

Hello everyone,

I have been in desperate need for a solution to my problem. Perhaps
someone can help...

1) How can you import new appointments from a text/excel/other source?

My problem is that I have over 50 appointments to manually input at
a time. The minimum requirements would be to have Date, Start & End
Time, & Subject lines filled. Not as critical would be categories,
Notes, Location, private, reminder.
I can quickly manipulate the date in an excel document and cut/paste
the duplicate date fast enough. It is having Outlook import the data
that is the problem. I have tried many programs and the best one is
"Copy2Calendar", which still has very limiting results. While I would
like to avoid VBA if possible, I would be willing to work with the
basics of script, but would prefer something easier.

2) If that is possible, is there a program/way to set up a custom
template for multiple appointments?
While this is not necessary, it would be nice to have. An example
would be the following...
I am an instructor for a Test Prep provider (Princeton Review,
Kaplan test Prep, Test Masters, etc.) and our courses have a fixed
number of classes in them. While the dates and times change for each
session, the different subject titles remain the same for the durration
of the entire class. Is there a way to set up a recurring appointment,
preconfigured with different Subject Lines and with the ability to
define a starting day, and skip (for instance) a single Tuesday out of
a Tues/Thurs Schedule and have the pattern repeat after that date?

3) Is there a way to easily (like a 3rd party plug-in) that would allow
me to export my calendar from outlook, with all of the details of my
appointments (except for the ones marked private), to an online
calendar such as Google calendar or any other online format?
I have my own web site, so if simply using an online service becomes
too involved, I can always use that. However, I would like something
that automatically updates from my Outlook on my own home computer
(like the E-mail feature). I find that if I have to first export my
calendar, set the date range, set to an iCal, import to Google, etc.
etc., it does not get done.

I fear I already know the answer to the second question, but I
cannot believe that I am the only one that needs the ability to import
multiple dates (1st question). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking for a solution to these for almost half a year. I
would really like a way for my Mobile PPC to update this automatically,
but I don't think that is possible.

Thanks again for anyone out there.

Sincerely,

Erik

1) Did you run into problems with the File | Import and Export wizard in Outlook. If so, what were they?

2) Outlook recurring appointments can do that out-of-the-box for a single Subject. Anything beyond that would require writing code. You might consider setting up a folder where you keep master copies of the courses you teach most. You can then make copies of them, adjust the dates, and drag the copies into the active calendar folder.

3) Outlook 2007 is the first version to have native web calendar publishing capability.
