I have never done this before.
I have a client who wants an Intranet.
They have 15 PC's on a LAN. (DSL Internet via Router)
They are using 2 NAS systems and an XP pro system as file servers. (1
Globally Shared, 1 Secure shared with limited access and 1 as a backup)
Can I use the XPP system as a web server (Install IIS) for the Intranet? If
so the limit will be 10 to access the site as once.
Will I need a formal Windows Server based system to get this to work?
Any Step by step info would be appreciated. They can design there own web
site. I know how to point the client PC's to the location of the site via
\\server\shared folder\web.htm. I am just a bit unsure about the
hosting/server PC setup. I also am aware about setting IE to not use a Proxy
for local web access.
Thanks, Marc Seidler
