Setting Up fax with NTL Broadband Modem

M

Mark

I have tried to use FAX in Windows XP Home but when
someone trys to send me a fax the telephone just rings
but the PC does not pick up. I have an NTL Broadband
Modem - this is not shown in the modem list - it shows
what I think is the internal modem for the PC which is
not used.
Any suggestions please

To send/receive a fax you need a plain old fashioned analog modem connected
to a plain old fashioned analog phone line. A broadband modem is NOT a
modem. Think of it as a network card, connecting you to a huge network...
the internet.
