I have a printer with a network card in it and I want to set it up to connect
to a work group to be shared amongst 5 PC's. Does the network card need and
IP address and if so how do I set it up. If the printer network card doesn't
have an IP address assigned to it how do I assign it one. Do I nned some kind
of software that came with the printer to set up the IP address?? The
workgroup has no server, only 5 standalone PC's.

It would really help If--
You identified the printer Model & Mfr
Some printers have a built-in control panel used to set such things as the
TCP/IP address, or have the printer get the address from somewhere else. (IE
a router or DHCP server) You will likely need to know the MAC address of the
printer NIC card.
You may or may not need printer drivers and software. Some models are
supported with drivers included on the windows CD, others require that
drivers and other software be obtained from the Mfr's Web site.
