setting short cuts

I want to use short cuts to setu dial up network connections. I have six
possible phone nnumbers which I want to set up as "num+1" through "num+6".
Currently I can only use "num+5" and the rest will not set up; like they are
being either used or withheld. How can I search to find if these why these
short cuts are not working and use them for this purpose? Is there a way of
releasing held short cuts?

Why not setup one dial-up network setup and include all the numbers as
alternatives and when you run the single shortcut, select the number you
need from the drop-down and/or (if feasible) set it up so they dial in an
order...?

Sounds great. How do I do it?
