Setting outlook express as default news reader, how?

Bob

Got a computer that shows me a folder when selecting News, had this happen
before an I know you gotta select outlook express as the news reader, but I
can't find the menu item that lets me choose it. Can anyone give me the
location for doing this? Its Outlook 2003.

Thanks for your help.

Found it! Went into Start Programs Outlook Express went to news it asked if
I wanted to make outlook express my default news reader, answered yes,
everything came back OK. I still wonder why Sh... like this happens though.
Never changed any settings on the computer before this problewm showed up.
It keeps hapening once in a while on diferent computers. Runing Nav, no
external unknown processes or viruses found to explain this.

Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks,

Bob

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

You may need to reset the Menu Bar and/or restart Outlook and/or reboot your
machine in order to complete the process. Not everyone is reporting success
with this method, but try it and see what happens. If all else fails, you
can always create a desktop shortcut to Outlook Express and include the
/outnews switch -- that gives you the same result as accessing the
newsreader via the News command in Outlook.
