Setting multiple masters on powerpoint startup

Is it possible, via code or registry etc, to have PowerPoint 2003 to start up
with Multiple Masters enabled? Maybe an auto-start template?

It appears that all the toolbars and menu options are stored in the
"PPT11.pcb" file under a user profile, but I need to be able to set Multiple
Masters as enabled on multiple PCs and for multiple users. Is the only
solution to deploy the PPT11.pcb file, or is there a way of modifying this
file when PowerPoint starts up. My fear of deploying the pcb file is that it
will destroy any existing user customisations, and all I want to do is change
this one setting.

Sorry, I was a bit free with my text - what I meant is that the PowerPoint
option under Tools->Options->Edit - "Disable new features", currently
"Multiple masters" is checked for all users (i.e. is disabled), but I want to
uncheck this for all users (i.e. enable it).

Hope this helps?

G.

You would need to remove "MaxNumberDesigns" name from the following location
in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\PowerPoint\Options

to enable Multiple Masters for the user. The 11.0 in the registry key is for
PowerPoint 2003. For PowerPoint 2002, it would be 10.0 and for PowerPoint
2007, it would be 12.0.

Graham,
You are using PPT 2003 then. And you want to uncheck it for all users. As
far as I know this is unchecked by default. Unchecking it may be a machine
setting, not sure, maybe someone else will confirm.
