setting microphone input as a audio line feed

Is there anyway to use the microphone input jack as an
audio feed? My desktop has a separate line feed input,
but I just bought a laptop and want to be able to play my
MD player through the laptop as I do through my desktop.

The help file said that this could be set through the
speech tab on the control panel, but there were no such
options when I clicked that tab. Any suggestions?
 
You need to R.click the speaker icon by the clock,open volume control
options,properties,chk the mic box to record,youre advanced menu might include
this also.
