If the message is sent in "Plain Text" format, the recipient's settings dictate what is
seen when received. If the message is sent in HTML format, the toolbar allows for you to
set whatever font and size available. BUT, and this is a BIG but: Do not opt for a
specialized font, which was not part of the default install of the Windows operating
system, a font which was installed by other software that you have installed. Because,
if that font is not available on the recipient's system, Windows will select another font,
and the results will not be what you intended. The other caveat is that with all of the
security problems, some people have set their mail clients to only receive messages in
"Plain Text" format, regardless if they were sent using HTML format. This allows for not
having to worry about harmful scripts running, pop ups, spyware/adware, etc.. Even
Outlook Express has an option to READ ALL MESSAGES IN PLAIN TEXT (Tools menu/Options/Read
tab/Read all messages in plain text) Again, the results on the other end will not even
approximate what they look like in your compose window.
