set program access and defaults

I can't change set program access and defaults to have IE
6.0 as my default browser. It is causing problems
getting to the dell alert site and 2 other sites, but the
rest of the internet seems fine. I was told by dell to
change the default browser to IE, but I have no idea how
to even check what the default browser is. In set
program access and defaults, whatever I change,
immediatly changes back as soon as I close it. I am the
only user (administrative or otherwise) and I don't
receive any errors. Thank you in advance for any help
given.

Try it a different way.
From IE, tools>internet options>programs, look at bottom
of page.

Hello Kevin!
Which other browser are you using? Now if Internet Explorer is not your
default browser then whenever you will click IE a pop up message will
come asking you whether you eant to make IE as your default browser or
not? click to "yes".
If it doen't help, uninstall the other browser and recheck.
