set default web browser in registry

where in the registry do i set my default web browser / email client ?
the web browser / email client I want to use is not showing up in SP2's
"Set Program Access and Defaults"

Have you tried opening IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs and
configuring it there?

they must be registered. For information about how software
