I would like to set an expiration date on certain emails that I get from our
firewall to the administrator account. Preferably, I'd like to auto archive
them (which is what we currently do) after one week and then set them to be
deleted after 6 months.

Is there a way to do this in Outlook 2003 or on the server (Exchange
Enterprise 2003)?

thanx!

As long as they stay in the exchange mailbox, you could use exchange's
mailbox manager to delete them once they age, but mailbox manager is limited
in what folders it can move items to. It only works on mailboxes, so
autoarchive is out. It can be configured to work on any folder though - so
once moved, it will delete them at 6 months.

To move them initially, you'll need rules program (such as auto-mate) that
runs rules after a period of time passes.

Rules can't set expire dates and I'm not aware of any rules programs that
can, although some might.

auto-mate and others are listed here:
