I create many slides for presentations. When I switch to a new slide during
the crreatioon, I must reset the font I want every time. There must be a way
to make this easier.

Click the View pull down menu
Click Master
Click Slide Master

This is where you can set all the defaults you want for the current
presentation. Setting the font style and size on this slide master will set
the defaults for each new slide you insert into this presentation.

Hope this helps --------------- BK

Click in the gray area outside the slide (to make sure that nothing is
selected).

From the formatting toolbar, select the font formatting, size, etc you want.

Now when you add a new text box, it'll have that font.
