I have just upgraded to Firefox 1.5 & it said that my SessionSaver plug-in
was not compatible. Does anyone know of a workaround for this, or possibly
another plug-in that will let me save the current tabs to open again on next
running of Firefox?

There is a way, but I'm kinda vague on the details since I'm not running FF now (I use Opera). But what you need to do is download the .xpi file for session saver, change the extension to .zip, then unzip it into a folder, and then edit the install.rdf (or something like that) file and change it to accept versions thru 1.5 (of Firefox). There is some label in the file relating to MaxVersion or some such thing, this has to be increased to include FF 15. Then save the file, rezip it all, rename the extension to .xpi again, and then it should install. All of this shouldn't be necessary of course, if the authors would just make it right the first time. Maybe someone else here can explain in more accurate detail.

Tab Mix Plus from http://tmp.gary.elixant.com/ can save sessions as well.

The best solution is to install the "Nightly Tester Tools"
extension:

https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=958

This allows you to circumvent the installation restrictions and
install supposedly non-compatible extensions.

NOTE: *if* the extension really does contain non-compatible code
(that only works on the older FF version), then it will of course
not function correctly. Nightly Tester Tools only removes the
installation restrictions, it does not adjust extension code to be
compatible with anything.

However, I haven't seen any problems yet with any of the extensions
I use.

I got an error message saying Nightly Tester is not compatable with 1.5
either!

It is very important *not to panic*. Just go to the extensions'
homepage and install it from there.

The archive on addons.mozilla.org seems to have the wrong
maxVersion, the archive on the homepage has 1.6a1 as maxVersion, and
will get installed without problems:

~dave/web/firefox/buildid/nightly.html

(all on one line, may wrap)
