Services Disabled

Hello,

I have an XP system which the modem stopped working on. I
assumed it had gone bad or maybe the driver was corrupt,
but when I checked in the Services a large number of the
services appear as disabled. In fact the only services
running are

Plug and Play
Help and Support
System Restore
Remote Procedure Call

All the others appear as disabled.

Someone then told me they are getting a similar problem on
Win2K (services not working), which made me wonder if it
was a virus/worm which was causing this (Norton also
stopped running). And I can't install anything because the
Installer service is also disabled.

Any suggestions?

Can you confirm the download location for the script? I
checked:

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

and I didn't see it.
