I tried to find an earlier post about the latest Service Pack download for XP
and how the user could no longer post.

We too downloaded that and now can't publish so the two may be related.

The last discussion, the user was given good advice about internet options
and security but I can no longer find it.

Here again are the symptoms I get :

I am having major publishing problems. I can't publish via Live on the
web or from my local to the web.

To be more clear, when I publish live i hit - open web, my network places,
then click on mywebsite.com and I get the message - "You do not have
permission to access to this web folder location "

When I publish from my local, I get the message: " http://mywebsite.com
does not exist, would you like FrontPage to create a web at that location?"

Has anyone seen these prompts before when trying to publish? After
downloading XP Service Pack?

Are you able to open your remote w/ FP (File Open site and enter the URL) or in IE browse to the site and File Edit w/ FP?

I was not able to open the site remotely ... but from advice you gave someone
else earlier, was able to fix the problem: Here is a repeat of what you said
as I am sure many other XP users will be downloading the new service pack and
may or may not be effected.

Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security, Click on 'Trusted' and on
'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the
Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification
(https)... to add your site

Thanks for the good advice! I can now again publish.
