service pack 4

After I downloaded my updated version of Microsoft Service
Pack 4,for version Windows 2000. I cannot connect to the
server. I have been on the phone with my internet
provider 3 times and they cannot resolve the connection
issue. I have no problem dialing up. Do you know of this
problem happening with this program?

Sure, Microsoft broke dial-up scripting in SP4.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;824301 Of course,
you have to call their 800 number to get it. If you tell them you are
looking for a hotfix, there is no charge.

I would have expected an MSP to answer that question; after reading the
Kb, I found I am advised to wait for the next SP since I am not
affected. When will this be?
