Service Pack 3 problem; can I uninstall without problems?

My computer was working just fine. My Skype line was great. Then, I
installed SP3 for XP Pro. Now computer connected mic headset will not work.
Callers cannot hear me. Can I uninstall SP3 without problems?

SP3 included the update for Hi-Def sound card so it's possible that
all you need to do is update your sound card driver to the latest one
to fix this issue.

Skype works well with Service Pack 3. You need to either reconfigure
or update the software.

As for uninstalling SP3, how long ago was this installed?
