Service Pack 2 stopped storage drive from working

I have installed service pack 2 and now my internal
storage drive is recognised, it wants to be formatted
when I try to view files. It did work OK before I
installed service pack 2. Can I set it to FAT 32 without
losing any files which is what is was set to before
installing service pack but now under disk management it
does not show as FAT32 or any other setting.

Do not format it as this will erase any data that was on it. Have you
tried reinstalling the motherboard drivers? You may want to try putting
the storage drive in another computer to see if it actually is your
computer that is acting up. You can also pull your data back off by
doing this.

Also, double check that: it is appearing in the BIOS before Windows
loads, it appears in Disk Management (Right click on My Computer, click
Manage, click Disk Management), and it appears in My Computer.

Thanks for help, have put in another PC and it does work fine, is shown in
bios and does show in disk management as healthy but does not have a file
system next to it. The disk is FAT32. Can I tell XP it is FAt32 as I think
this is the problem.

XP should see that the drive is FAT32. I would grab all the data you
want from the drive off on the other computer, then use XP in the
computer you want to use to format it. Unfortunately, XP forces you to
format it NTFS if the drive is over 32 GB
