Hi,

I have downloaded SP2, I have XP Home edition. When installing the update,
it is hanging at "creating restore point" for a long time, how long should
this take?

That answer depends on many factors (machine speed, amount of crud on
machine, amount of memory, amount of hard drive space, etc..)

I have to guess you let it install over night before you asked though..

Did you download the full install file or are you using the Windows Update
page?
