Service Pack 2 destroyed my computer

I can't restore my other laptop since I downloaded Service
Pack 2 and it hung, never finishing installing itself.

Not typical at all.
But without any details, no precise suggestions can be given.

Did you verify with hardware and software manufacturers everything was
compatible with SP-2?
Did you prepare the computer for SP-2?
