Service Pack 1

When I try to install Service Pack 1 for Xp (either from
disk or from the website), I get a message thet
states "Windows Xp Service Pack 1 is incompatible with
this version of Windows". I am running Windows XP Home
Edition, Version 2002 upgraded from Windows ME. Any
ideas??
 
Go to Run > Start and type: WINVER , and hit enter.

If "Version 5.1 (Build 2600) is not shown, you are running a
beta version of XP for which there is no update support. If
that's the case, you need to reformat your drive and install
the released version of XP, after purchasing it.
