Hijacker Smartfinder

I have a hijacker smartfinder on my computer and have tried everything
except reformatting my hard drive. The windows xp start up disk will
reformat it for me (already read that). My problem is this. When I try
to do that it tells me that the version of windows I have is newer
(service pack 2) than service pack 1. Can I redownload service pack 1
and run it to reformat my hard drive?? Thanks please respond.

If you're doing a clean install - not a repair install - it doesn't
matter what service pack your CD has, if any, since the first step is
erasing your hard disk.

Be sure that you're doing a clean install - not a repair install:

"Windows XP Clean Install"
