service non functional

Hi folks!

I have a W2k-Server and the time service isnt functioning.
When i try to start the service i get the following error
message (translated):
"The Service "Windows Time" on "local computer" couldn´t
be started. The Service didn´t report an error. It Could
be an internal windows error or an internal service error.
Get in touch with your system administrator if the
problem ..."

The Server is the DC of our Domain and i found it to risky
to make a OS-reinstall over the existing one.
Maybe there is some way to repair or install only the non-
functional time service.
Any help would be appreciated.
