Service Account Authority

Under what circumstance would it be reasonable to grant domain admin
privledge to a service account (NT 4.0)? Don't service accounts just need
local authority to run the service?
 
Depends what the service account is supposed to do. If it needs to access
something across the network, localsystem won't do it.
