I'm using XP SP2, and AVG cannot update, Firefox cannot access any website,
and basically any program except Opera that tries to access a server or the
internet is being blocked. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

So in other words, you have no Internet connectivity?

Since you haven't told us how you connect to the Internet, I can only
give you general suggestions. All troubleshooting needs to be done
methodically, testing after each step and not going onto the next step
until you have tested.

1. Call your ISP and make sure there's nothing wrong on their end.

2. What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
If you made no changes (that you know of) and this is a sudden change,
try a System Restore to when things worked.

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore - "restore my
computer to an earlier time"

3. Make sure the computer is virus/malware-free since infection is a
common reason for loss of Internet connectivity.

4. Check the hardware used to connect to the Internet; i.e., network
adapter or modem, router, cable/dsl modem, cables, etc.

Tried the system restore, didn't fix anything. I think it's some conflict
with XP. Is there anything I should disable, or change?

Sorry, you still aren't providing enough information to get focused
help. I already gave you general suggestions. Since you haven't told me
anything else, I don't have anything from you to work with. Here is a
link that will show you what to include in your next newsgroup post so
you can get more specific help:
