I have forgotten somethoing.
RDP to the server works but I must not have RAS correct as no VPN can be
established.
1723, 3389, ?

Not sure the issue, but let me try this. You can both RDP and VPN on the same server or you can do RDP over VPN to access the server.

I CAN rdp to the server.
I CAN NOT vpn to the server.

L2TP no certificate installed. ??
Diabled L2TP.
Since this is a short lived server, this will work for now.
