Hello

I am a novel user of windows 2000 server and was doing some exercise on Security Analysis and Configuration snap-in to apply security template. (The exercise is based on Microsoft Press 210-215 book.) After reboot the machine, the booting process hangs at the stage of "Applying security policy...". I waited for 10 minutes and it still doing this. This computer is a primary domain controler with another win2k server connected to it. Does anyone have any suggestion how to fix this

thanks

Try booting using last known good configuration to see if that helps. Learn to backup
your computer including the System State before making future configuration changes.
If that does not help try first a fast repair installation [boot from cdrom and
select repair existing installation before you see [EULA] and if that fails an
upgrade installation. See links below for more info. --- Steve

service pack first and then critical updates to be installed if used.
