SCECLI errors coincide with users being locked out

Hi guys,

I have a question about Security Policies. I'm a little new to this, so
bare with me. Each night on our Wind2K/IIS 5.0 server, we notice that the
SceCli event is run which of course has the description of: "Security policy
in the Group policy objects are applied successfully." (Event 1704).

I know this is common, but it seems like each time it is run, our server
gets locked down and users can not connect to our webserver. Nothing works.
If we reboot or wait for a period of time, the server goes back to normal.

How can I check what the current Security Settings are and how can I stop
this from happenning?

Thanks!

If your W2k/IIS5 server is within a domain then install GPMC on some
XP or W2k3 and use its RSoP in "what if" mode for computer policies
only for that W2k/IIS5. Group Policy Management Console (GPMC)
must be installed on an uplevel domain member for this and cannot
be used to view the actual Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) for that IIS5
server since W2k does not support this.
If it is not in a domain, then start / run mmc and add the Group Policy
snap-in and examine all settings carefully.

Well, that will let you see what settings are being enforce by SceCli,
but that does not explain your observed behavior as stated
